Episode 15 - Mariana Horrisberger
Mariana is a trilingual translator certified by her hometown university in Argentina. She has over ten years of experience in the elearning translation field and has been with her current company for three years, connecting L&D departments with her talented project management team. She loves traveling and getting to know other cultures, and has lived abroad twice: first in Brazil and now in the US. She is currently one of the co-organizers of the GLDC, a Global Learning and Development Community for people in L&D to connect and help each other.

1) Imagine that you were contacted by an airline company who wanted you to translate engineering material for them. How do you become competent in your ability to handle higher risk translations?
2) You’re on your first international translation job and the company is thinking about using the same slides, colors, actors, etc.. for their out of country locations. What issues might you bring up to stakeholders that they hadn’t considered when it comes to different cultures?
