Download the episode here:

Matt Gjertsen is the founder and Chief Learning Officer of Better Every Day Studios, a full-service instructional design team that helps companies with everything from needs analysis to content creation and delivery. He began his instructional career in the United States Air Force as an Instructor Pilot, after which he became Manager of Training and Development for SpaceX and has gone on to work with numerous start-ups across multiple industries.

In this episode, Matt and I discuss the following scenarios:

1) How does someone overcome imposter syndrome when handling higher-risk training? (i.e. training pilots)

2) Similarly, how do you train a group that’s more competent in the material than yourself when the subject isn’t your background? (Technical training)

3) What previous experience can you leverage for your L&D role and provide yourself with an advantage in your work?
