My guest this week is Yvonne Urra-Bazain. She’s an e-Learning Developer with a waxing toolset for accessible design. She is a digital nomad, enthusiastic about visual design, learning, and development. She also runs the GLDC Accessibility Co-lab where all participants collaboratively problem solve for digital accessibility on the second Monday of each month.

In this episode, Yvonne and I talk about the following questions:

1) How do you apply the principles of universal design to your work?

2) Most companies seem receptive to incorporating accessibility in their resources, but when deadlines are approaching, and developers are rushing, it seems that accessibility standards take a back seat. How do you encourage that follow-through when the team is scrambling to deliver a product?

3) You’ve mentioned previously that designing with accessibility in mind supports diversity, inclusion, and belonging. How does accessible design communicate this?
