Episode 6 - Devlin Peck

Listen to the episode here:

Devlin Peck is an instructional design coach and content creator who helps instructional designers worldwide build their skills and land their top-choice opportunities.

Challenges presented to Devlin:

1) Imagine that you’re beginning to develop your portfolio. You want to show the range of what you can do but you don’t want to overwhelm the viewer with too many projects. How do you walk that line between too little and too much?

2) You’re starting to work in this field but you feel unsure about your own “style”. Up until now, you have used others’ work as inspiration and have even recreated projects you appreciated. Where does drawing inspiration differ from plagiarism in L&D?

3) You’re working a 9-5, maybe it’s in L&D maybe it’s in another sector. However, you see others working in freelance and you dream about how wonderful it would be to call your own schedule and pick the projects you want. Is the freelance sector really that glamorous, especially when you first try to make the shift?
