Kim Scott is an Award-winning, dynamic leader with extensive experience developing learning strategies in instructional design, education technology, and LMS administration. She’s been a speaker for TLDC (or the transitioning to learning and development group) and she’s the creator of the Facebook LMS admin support group.
Challenges presented to Kim:
1) Imagine that you’re a transitioning teacher pursuing a career in L&D but you’re not exactly sure where to start your search. You’ve heard of instructional design, but you’re intimidated by the number of tools you must now learn for this path. How do you find out about other roles that might suit your already developed skillset better?
2) The company you’re working for is considering a learning management system for their new e-learning courses. They’ve asked you to do research on a system that would meet their needs. What curricula are you considering when hunting for an LMS?
3) You’re on the job hunt and you have to go through the unfortunate task of trimming your resume. What would you keep and what would you discard in order to focus on the value you can provide for anyone looking at your resume?
